As the nation approaches the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, songwriter Harry Spero and his band, The September Project, are marking the occasion with the re-release of September, a moving rock opera album inspired by the tragedy and its lasting impact on America.

“As it did for many people, the events of September 11, 2001 had a profound impact on me and changed my life forever,” said Spero. “I have lived and worked in Manhattan for more than 50 years and have witnessed an awful lot, for better and for worse. But nothing ever affected me as viscerally as 9/11. As an artist, a patriotic American and proud New Yorker, I felt compelled to express those emotions through song.”
